Is it normal to have wet spots on face immediately after botox injection? The Dr. wiped it off as she was going, but I don't recall having this before. It wasn't every injection, but it seemed like it was about half of the injections. If it was botox liquid - should I be concerned from a waste or experience point of view? Or anything else?

Answer: Botox wet spots Good day and thank you for your question. It is common to have some wet spots on your face during the injection. These area can correspond to blood which is coming out from the injection site. It is hard to know exactly however that is most likely what the wet spot is that is being wiped off. If you have a good result with the botox, I would not be concerned that it is a waste of the botox as you had a good result after the treatment. Good luck with the rest of you journey! Answer: It is likely the botox itself The placement of neuromuscular modulators into the specific level of the skin structures is what allows the product to be exactly where it is needed. Sometimes that is "deep" (relatively speaking) into the muscle, e.g. the glabella/"11s"/frown lines or more shallow, e.g. forehead or crow's feet area. The amount of product being used it very small and as a practitioner moves between injections, very small amounts can leak (from skin where just injected as the needle is pulled out) or from the syringe itself. It may feel like a big drop yet the syringes used carry tiny amounts of liquid. Having a little bit of product on the skin is very common and is part of the process many times. The important thing is that the number of units used in the area is correct and that you trust the practitioner to be doing an excellent job for you. Offering touch ups at no charge ensures that the result matches your expectation and what you paid for. Having a practitioner that cares about your results and welcomes you back to ensure you are taken care of is important.
