I'm concerned the frontal hairline is too straight. Just back from a holiday and in the pics all I can see is an unnatural hairline. I've had people question my hairline also and I'm getting paranoid. Surgeon said that it's like this because all the hair has started growing at the same time & that over time it'll start to look more natural. Really? What are your thoughts on my hairline & is there anything I can do to rectify it?
Answer: Re: Unnatural Looking Hairline One of the factors contributing to an unnatural looking appearance is the harsh, precise looking outer edge. This contour of both the hairline and temples should look soft and gradual through the use of finer hairs from regions like the nape or legs. The hairline shape should correspond to your facial features. And the temples should also be designed accordingly. Hairline revision procedures can correct unnatural looking characteristics that were surgically created. Here is an example of an FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hairline restoration patient from the Dr.U Hair Clinic in Los Angeles, where nape hair improved the hairline outer edge and camouflaged the unnatural hair growth direction.

Answer: Thoughts on my hairline 1 year post FUE transplant? By one year postop you should be at or very close to your final results. Now would be the time to visit your surgeon, review preop photos and treatment plan, discuss what you do and don't like about your results and, if necessary, plan a revision.

Answer: Hairline The hairline for a 31 year old male should be V-Shaped. The leading edge of the hairline should have a transition zone to that there is no visible hairline, just a zone from the forehead to the thicker hair. You have no such zone. The pictures below show a repaired no-hairline hairline that I built

Answer: The Art of Hair Transplantation While I am not criticizing the work you have had done, you do have a great question for your surgeon. Hair growing in all at once does not matter. Designing a hairline, proper angulation of recipient sites, appropriate placement as well as choice of grafts in certain areas are all something a well trained, artistic, full-time hair restoration surgeon can do properly. Everyone visiting RealSelf should do their research well to find a well qualified hair transplant surgeon to meet their needs.
