I had 1/2 ml of Radiesse injected 4 months ago around my mouth and lower face to correct a downturned smile but it look over filled and lopsided now , can anyone please help me out i'm getting very depressed , I've just tried a low course of oral steroids 10mg for 5 days with no improvement and tried hyalase and sterile water injected into area but no difference .
Answer: Surgically removed or diffused Radiesse is a stimulatory filler that is an excellent option for patients who desire a longer-lasting filler alternative to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. In our office, we use Radiesse to complement structural areas of the face and contour bony prominences. Our office also is a center of excellence for filler complication treatments and we see patients who have been treated by other doctors and have undesirable results from Radiesse or other long-lasting fillers. We have treatment options available for Radiesse filler nodules, granulomas, and soft tissue thickening. The first step would be to diagnose the nodularity and determine whether there is an option for surgical vs. non-surgical removal. Surgical excision is a possibility in some patients; whereas others with more diffuse fillers may benefit from intralesional therapy using scar modulators and enzymes and kenalog. Radiesse complications may be long-lasting and prompt action is key. Patients who have no access to an expert in the field should begin gentle massage of the areas of nodularity with Plato’s Scar Serum twice daily. RF and invasive lasers can actually do more damage by stimulating further collagen growth. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Unhappy with Radiesse Radiesse typically lasts 18-24 months and will gradually absorb into your body. It can’t be reversed like other fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert to go over your desired results. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Radiesse Radiesse cannot be broken down similar to hyaluronic acid filler injections. It can be surgically removed if absolutely necessary. It's hard to tell from the photographs if the area of concern is due to Radiesse injections. I recommend you seek consultation with a plastic surgeon who can evaluate you and determine the cause of the downturned smile. Hope this helps.

Answer: Can Radiesse be dissolved after injections around the mouth? Looking at the pictures, I don't see a significant problem. The reason I'm saying this is that the correction might end up with more of a problem than what you have now. I've heard there are some case reports on animals that sodium thiosulfate can be used to dissolve Radiesse. I don't know anyone who has done this. Otherwise, surgery is needed to remove Radissse. If there is nodularity, breaking it up with cannulas or needles along with a saline/lidocaine mixture can be done. Doing nothing, results might last 12-18 months.

Answer: Radiesse Unfortunately radiesse cannot be dissolved, but it will absorb over a year or two so you will return to baseline. If you are really bothered by the asymmetry, I would recommend having a hyaluronic acid filler like juvederm injected to smooth the contour. This will last for about one year as the radiesse absorbs. The advantage of juvederm is it is easily reversed if you are not happy with the result. So sorry you have to go through this, but it will get better!
