Radiesse in Upper Cheeks ... How often are touch-ups required to maintain full or near-full correction?

The longevity of a filler depends on your own personal metabolism, and where the filler is placed, and how deep. I'd recommend returning to your injector when you start to notice the filler going away, and yes, that can be as soon as 3 months, though that is rare with Radiesse. You may even start to have filler injections in different areas, once one area is corrected. What's interesting are the new studies that demonstrate the bio-stimulatory effect of Radiesse, to build more collagen, similar to Sculptra. 

​Volume and contouring of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. Botox and radiofrequency can help slim and contour the jawline. Liposuction can help slim the face. Ultherapy, J Plasma and RF treatments can provide skin tightening and lift. Radiesse usually lasts 10-12 months. Touch ups depend on the amount of volume loss in the face, skin laxity and your pocketbook. For a face with some volume loss a touch up can be done in 6-8 months to keep your look going. See a provider and have a discussion. Hope this is helpful. JB

Radiesse has the ability to produce long lasting results. Some patients experience results that last as long as 12-18 months after treatment and in the majority of patients, the result is 8-10 months or longer. The first touch up may be in eight months, but interestingly, each repeat treatment will last longer and the intervals will usually be longer.

Radiesse lasts a long time but patients do come back for touch-ups right after getting the injection or 1-2 two years after their last injection. Hope this helps. 

The degradation curve is different for all patients. I would say between 6-9 months a touch up will keep you maximally corrected. However, you will be able to tell when you have some deflation. Overtime, more and more native collagen will be created and you will need less frequent fillers. Unfortunately, the aging process occurs and this needs to be accounted for in the timeline of being filled too.

It honestly varies by the individual. Since you pay for the syringe, you can have touch ups as you wish. Typically, every six months is fine.  Although Radiesse is one of the longer lasting fillers and some product remains for up to 18 months, that is not its efficacy period, which is considerably shorter. As to fat transfer, it has its own issues with take and consistency.  Injected filler is more fool proof, although it does need to be repeated. Best wishes.

Radiesse can last for up to two years for some but many prefer to get a touch up at one year.  There is no set rule so if you are beginning to see a loss of volume a touch up would be great.  Good luck!

Radiesse does last longer than HA fillers but not always a year and a half and you can have touch ups whenever you feel like you need them with no problem

First of all let me inform you that Radiesse does not last a year and a half. What the manufacturer implies is that there are microscopic particles of Radiesse that can be found in tissues after a year-and-a-half following the injection. Radiesse last about the same amount of time as do most hyaluronic acid fillers. A touch-up or a fill up of any filler can be performed at the time when the patient desires to have it done.
