Answer: Pain after tummy tuck Thanks for your inquiry, but without an exam it is hard to advise. Your pain could be many things including nerve pain, muscle pain, etc. Please see your plastic surgeon to be evaluated.

Answer: Post-op pain First, get checked over by your surgeon -just to make sure there is no serious underlying cause of the pain - such as hematoma, infection, problems with your plication, etc. Then, if none of those things are present, you can discuss the various medications for pain management (NSAIDS, neurontin, etc.)

Answer: 3 weeks post TT and severe sharp shooting stabbing pain in abdomen. Thank you for sharing your question. After three weeks it would not be uncommon to have some residual discomfort from a tummy tuck but it should not be as severe as you describe. I would reach out to your surgeon for an in-person exam so as to ensure no other issues are taking place. Hope this helps.

Answer: 3 weeks post TT and severe sharp shooting stabbing pain in abdomen--what is it? The most important thing is to have your surgeon check you to ensure there is no concerning issue. It could be something as simple as nerve pain due to normal regeneration after surgery, a neuroma ("clump" of nerve tissue often associated with a scar in tummy tucks which can rarely be seen), collection of fluid under the skin, etc. If you are having more significant and associated symptoms such as fever over 101.5, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. call your surgeon and discuss whether a visit to the ER is warranted to rule out something inside the tummy not related to the surgery itself. Always best to get checked in person when a postoperative concern arises. Good luck and feel better!
