Will I achieve desirable results from a rhinoplasty and will I need grafts to fix the nostril area? (photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. The alar retraction can also be treated with extended alar contour grafts. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

You also appear to have a wide nasal appearance on front view. Goals of rhinoplasty surgery are to make somebody's nose less distracting, and to allow it to blend in. During Rhinoplasty tip is addressed in with multiple approaches including graft. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and discuss the surgical procedure and the post op recovery
process.

The width of your nose is too great over the bridge. Also, the nasal columella angle is about 90 degrees and needs to be 110 degrees. You would benefit from a rhinoplasty with possible septoplasty with graft.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty, I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. In your case, you do have a hanging columella and arched alar rims. I see this combination very commonly and remove the caudal septum and perform alar rim grafts. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you

There are several ways to correct a hanging columella and some are fairly simple. In addition you need better tip refinement and narrowing if the nasal bones

You can increase the odds of having a quality outcome by finding the best provider.
The process of provider selection can be time-consuming.
I suggest you make a list of potential providers in your community and start having in person consultations.
Bring pictures of your face and nose to use as reference, especially when reviewing before and after pictures.
Look for plastic surgeons for members of the rhinoplasty society.
During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar characteristics to your own.
Take care notes during each consultation regarding all the various aspects so you can compare later when deciding who your provider should be.
I personally think it’s a good idea to have four or five consultations at least before selecting a provider.
