Emergency Hylase 4ml to dissolve filler that was injected into an artery in forehead. The Hylase also dissolved Radiesse adjacent to the site. This area was refilled and then emergency dissolved with 1 ml of Hylase due to injected into a major artery. Where Radiesse was and other lines that were filled and stable reappeared. I would really like an answer. The Batch Number for the Radiesse is 100094674. Expiry date October 2018
Answer: Why did Radiesse dissolve? In some countries Hylase contains hyaluronidase, which is what was used to dissolve the filler you had injected which I assume was an HA filler. Hylase will not dissolve Radiesse.

Answer: Dissolving filler Thanks for your questions and photos. Hyaluronidase can't dissolve Radiesse because Radiesse is not made of hyaluronic acid. Perhaps the hyaluronidase dissolved some of your native collagen, but it is hard to say. I would say you are putting yourself at risk with Radiesse in the forehead with those large arteries, but the biggest risk would be skin and soft tissue necrosis when one of those arteries above the brows is occluded. You could end up with a very large and unsightly scar if the skin is deprived of oxygen and nutrients from those arteries and I have seen it happen when an inexperienced injector made a choice that cost the patient half her forehead skin. Hopefully you are seeing a board certified plastic surgeon, who might propose something along a more surgical route if the forehead indentation is your biggest concern. Best of luck and be careful out there!

Answer: Question regarding dissolving of Radiesse with Hylase Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down Hyaluronic acids (Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Voluma, etc.) and has no effect on Radiesse. There IS something which can break down Radiesse: Sodium Thiosulfate! This was found and tested by Yale Dermatologist, Deanne Mraz Robinson, MD, and published in a peer-reviewed journal of cosmetic dermatology in November 2018. Apparently, you had some hyaluronic acid in an area that you thought was occupied by Radiesse.

Answer: Radiesse Hi there,This is not a good product choice for this area. Also there really isn't anything to dissolve this product. So I would question where you are receiving these treatments. Wrong product. wrong placement, wrong remedy! See a certified physician always!
