Is PRP a recommend treatment for hair breakage ?

PRP contains growth factors that effectively increases hair density and promotes hair growth when used consistently. Yes I recommend using PRP in this situation as part of the treatment regimen. For optimum result, other treatment modalities also need to be considered.

Hair is dead. PRP will not help with hair "breakage" or split ends. You cannot repair a dead tree branch with fertilizer.  If you have concerns it is best you see your doctor for a better assessment. 

Assuming that the diagnosis is correct of hair breakage, PRP would NOT be the first line treatment. Hair breakage is caused by many things. Hair coloring and dyeing is a common etiology. I would consider stopping the hair coloring for a few months and see if it has any effect. Other causes are over processing, overcoming, hot combing, hair pulling, wet styling, poor diet, sulfate shampoos, excess sun exposure and some inherited hair conditions. For most people, PRP has the ability to increase the diameter of the hair shaft. This will combat hair breakage. PRP needs to be continued every 4 to6 months to continue to be effective.
