Any suggestions for droopy outer eye corners after Blepharoplasty? (photos)

Your problem appears to be due to your eyebrow sagging, brow ptosis rather than your eyelid skin.  A trial of botox that give you an idea what a brow lift will do may be helpful to determine if you would be happy with a surgical brow lift.

Hi Rae:Thanks for the question.  The most common cause of this problem is a descent of the lateral portion of the eyebrow, which can be fixed with a temporal brow lift.  Botox, placed beneath the brow, can also give a bit of a lateral brow lift.  However, you may benefit from a little bit of skin being removed from the outer portion of the eyelid as well - it's difficult to tell exactly in these photos.  An in-person exam with a good plastic surgeon is your next step.All the best,

Thank you for the question and including photos. Your problem is relatively easy to fix. Simply removing a little skin from the outer corner should do the trick to satisfy you. Downtime will be less than the original surgery. Good luck.

Dear Rae:Thanks for your question. I think that I'd start with some Botox or Xeomin to try to get you a bit of a brow lift. Done properly, these medicines can get a bit of a lift which should improve the droopiness that you have laterally. Without photos of you with eyes closed, I can't really comment on if you'd benefit from more skin being removed, but generally if patients are dissatisfied with the results of eyelid surgery, they actually have an eyebrow issue rather than a continued eyelid issue. It looks like you have maintained good results overall since your upper blepharoplasty was done 5 years ago.  You do have a lower brow configuration, and this predisposes you to having some additional heaviness in the lateral aspect of your upper eyelids as time goes on.  I would consider some well-placed Botox treatments to conservatively lift the temporal aspect of the brow.  If this doesn't give you enough improvement, you may be a candidate for a revision blepharoplasty at some point in the future.  A conservative brow lift may be another option if your lower brow configuration is a cosmetic concern.

that the surgeon who performed your upper lid blepharoplasty was conservative,
as removing more eyelid skin would not address this situation. This is because
the cause of the drooping over the outer corner of the eyes actually comes from
sagging of the outer eyebrow, not eyelid skin excess. Based on your photographs, the inner brow does
not require lifting, only the outer part requires lifting to open the eye here..


As I assume you want a
permanent correction, using botox is not what you want as these treatments do
not last need to be repeated every 3 months! There are several options of
surgically and permanently lifting the outer brow.In
your situation, being young, the best result would be obtained by having what
is called a deep temporal lift.

Good surgery is not overdone, rather the outer brow is brought up to the
correct level for your eyes, and this lifts the skin fold beneath the brows.
