Question

I’m 5’2, 65kg, dark skinned. I had liposuction procedure 10 months ago. Areas of liposuction includes my tummy, back and arms. I’m 10 months post op and still very much swollen. I had 10 massages after my procedure and used my Faja for 2 months. I’m not a fan of waist training at all. Not comfortable with it. I’m just worried if my swelling will ever go away

It is important to take into account several aspects among which is the surgical technique applied, and to evaluate if there is something else at a systemic level to make you still swollen. While most patients see the majority of swelling resolve within 6 months, it isn’t unusual for some people to experience lingering fullness even 10 months after liposuction. It can take 12 to 18 months for your final result to fully develop and for all residual swelling to diminish.

That said, persistent swelling at this stage can sometimes reflect scar tissue (fibrosis), residual fat, or fluid retention rather than simple post-op swelling. A follow-up exam with your surgeon is the best way to determine whether what you’re seeing is within the normal healing spectrum or if any intervention is necessary.

Posted only frontal view, no side views. Best to virtual consult with... I would recommend in office ultrasound of abdomen to see the thickness of the fat above the recti muscles.That fee $500. Then liposuction of complete abdomen again using superficial sculpting techniques with drain. Fee$6,000

Liposuction swelling is mostly gone by six weeks and my three month patient will not see any further changes by waiting any longer.
You’re not swollen but your abdomen bulges because you carry access visceral fat.
To reduce your visceral fat you need to lose weight.
I suppose it would’ve been nice if your surgeon explained this to you during your in person consultation.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Swelling after liposuction is the norm. Complete resolution varies from individual to individual but usually takes somewhere between 12-18 months. Swelling is an indicator of inflammation which is important in the healing process. Be patient as it appears you have a way to go. If concerned, revisit your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...
