Hello, I’m a 28 year old woman of average weight looking to slim down and lift my lower face. For as long as I can remember my cheeks have always been full no matter my weight. And as I age I notice more sagging along my perioral area. My ultimate goal would be to sculpt my jawline and cheeks and give them a sharper look and trim my perioral mounds. I’ve been looking into jaw Botox as one of my options but I am open to other suggestions to address my concerns.

Please watch the following video to get a detailed answer of your question. TMJ is a joint and the jaw muscles get bigger over time in every person. Therefore - the shape of the lower jaw becomes square over time. Botox is effective in slimming this appearance.
It's unlikely that the soreness you experienced three days ago is related to the injections from three months ago. It may be that you are feeling the soreness from your TMJ that the Botox relieved. I encourage you to return to your injector for further evaluation.
