Will my areola color come back? (Photo)

Question

I got a breast reduction in August 2022, and my scars have healed nicely. However, my nipples have white spots, almost if my areolas had to stretch and lost it’s color. Will the color go back to normal?

Hello, thank you for the photo and question.  This far along I don't see the color returning to those areas.  If this bothers, you a consultation with a skilled tattoo artist may be able to help you with fading in those areas and matching the pigmented areas to look even.

It is unlikely that the pigmentation will return in your areola.  You can consider medical tattooing where the artist can match your pigmentation and fill in the color.  See your surgeon for more information.

This is a type of scaring as well so it is unlikely that it will return to normal. I would recommend tattooing to restore the colour.

Thank you for your query. There are depigmented patches in your areola and the areola has expanded as well. The best approach at this stage will be to have a revision with reduction of the areola and the depigmented areas can be removed at the same time as well.
