I am 51, 5’7”, 145 lbs and a 34 DD/DDD and would like to be a B. I have had 4 consultations and several have said that the vertical/lollipop would be a good route. Will that get me to a B?
Answer: Vertical scar breast reduction to get from DDD to a B cup Thank you for your query. Based on your photographs you appear to be a good candidate for a vertical scar only breast reduction. If you are in otherwise good health and are a non smoker, getting your desired breast size of a B cup should be possible. Please discuss all your concerns with the Board certified plastic surgeon you choose. All the best!

Answer: Breast reduction From the photos it appears you are a good candidate for a breast reduction. This will remove excess skin and breast tissue as well as downsize and lift the areola. An in person exam is best to determine the best approach to get you the results you are wanting. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Bra sizes are not scientific Hi Rational, As you probably know, bra sizes are not scientific! You could go to three different stores and come back with three different bra sizes. I gather from your question, that you're looking to be much smaller than where you currently are. And that's achievable! As long as there is good communication between you and your surgeon- you feel like you are heard and understood- I'm sure you'll be happy with the results. All that is to say, don't get caught up on the cup size! I perform most of my breast reductions with the anchor pattern- especially for those looking to go down significantly in size. That pattern allows for optimal repositioning of tissue in my opinion. I wish you the best of luck in your search for treatment! - Dr. Nik

Answer: Breast reduction Dear Rational409790, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Cup You might wind up a "C" cup because enough breast tissue much remain to keep your nipples alive. A "B" cup is small.
