I am trying to figure out what is recommended for my body shape. I am 5’5” and weigh 180. I have an inverted triangle body shape. I’ve had 4 kids so def have a bulky pubic area that I’d like to get rid of. I have fat rolls in my back that I want gone, and a butt/hips that needs projection. I am trying to figure out if a bbl would help me with the bulky pubic area along with removing fat everywhere or if a tummy tuck and bbl would be a better bet to address all my concerns. Thanks
Answer: Tummy tuck with liposuction candidate Thank you for your question. Based on your pictures you appear to be good candidate for full tummy tuck with muscle repair combined with liposuction. What also we can do is pubic area liposuction. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: BBL candidate Dear Thoughtful627432, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Tummy tuck and BBL combination In regards to the front of the abdomen there are four variables that contribute to shape and contour. The best treatment should be based on an underlying diagnosis based on which of these four variables is the primary, secondary tertiary problem etc. In order the four variables are skin laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation a.k.a. diastasis a recti from previous pregnancies, and access intra-abdominal or visceral fat. You probably have all four of these but probably pregnancy related changes which are going to be muscle separation and skin laxity are probably contributing the most. pregnancies do not change women’s fat distribution. To get a flat tight abdomen you need a full tummy tuck. Whether that should be done in conjunction with a BBL or a separate procedures depends on who you ask. Personally I believe patients do best getting a tummy tuck first followed by a BBL six months later. There are others who prefer to do the BBL first followed by the tummy tuck. If someone has a low BMI an insufficient amount of fat then the BBL should always come first. There are good arguments for doing these as combine procedures and there are good arguments for doing them as separate procedures. Likewise there a good arguments for doing the tummy tuck first and there are also good arguments for doing the BBL first. In many ways I believe patients should have the procedure they will have the greatest impact done first. in your case I believe that is going to be the tummy tuck. I would also say that the variance or variability in outcome of results of liposuction and fat transfer varies more based on who does the procedure then results from tummy tucks. Obviously some providers will do a better job at a tummy tuck than others but the difference in outcomes for Liposuction and fat transfer results purely based on who does the procedure seems more extreme. I recommend having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons. During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for any and all procedures you’re interested in. Typically an experienced surgeon will have a collection of before and after pictures that reads like a telephone book. When reviewing BBL results always confirm that after pictures were taken at least three months from the date of surgery. for this procedure early postoperative pictures are not at all representative a final results and can be very misleading. Providers should know better but some seem tempted to still show early pictures as there before and after results. In the end choose to right plastic surgeon, follow their recommendations and everything falls into place. Do you have the potential for a quite remarkable body transformation. The biggest variable is really who does the procedure. Judge tummy tuck results based on who gets the most natural looking belly buttons. This combined with a very low set incision that follows natural anatomic contours is the hallmark of quality work. Patients should also look good from all aspects and all angles and not look like only the front was treated but somehow the sides and back got completely ignored. Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: BBL versus TT and BBL Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note a full abdomen, pubis, flanks and hips. The buttocks are relatively small. From the photos presented, your abdominal fullness appears to represent stretching out of the abdominal wall musculature as the result of pregnancy as well as significantly stretched out skin. I don't think that liposuction alone will achieve the look you desire as it doesn't address the musculature nor the skin laxity. You are a candidate for a full tummy tuck, which will flatten your abdomen and eliminate loose skin. It will also tighten your pubic area.Liposuction of the abdomen simultaneously with abdominoplasty is not usually recommended due to blood supply concerns. In addition, after abdominoplasty one cannot rest on their abdomen, and after BBL one cannot rest upon their buttocks. One usually separates the procedures by a period of 6 months. Some surgeons prefer BBL first, others will perform abdominoplasty first.BBL first: With less abdominal fat after liposuction, the abdomen can be pulled tighter during the later abdominoplasty and more donor fat can be obtained for the BBL. However, subcutaneous scarring from the liposuction will make performance of the later abdominoplasty more difficult.Abdominoplasty first: easier abdominoplasty...abdomen not quite as tight after liposuction removes a volume of underlying tissue at the second liposuction procedure. In our practice, we usually will perform the BBL first.Get advice from a board certified plastic surgeon who can give you advice after examination.Best wishes...
