I would like an opinion on Thermismooth Radiofrequency treatment for refining skin. How effective is it and how long lasting. It was recommended since I have Asian skin. The ablative procedure would probably not be the best for me.

Answer: ThermiSmooth is effective an effective skin tightening agent ThermiSmooth has shown very promising results for skin refinement around the eye and perioral region. It requires 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart to get maximal results and is perfectly safe for all skin types. The least invasive/ablative procedure is appropriate for your skin type.

Answer: Thermi smooth We have found thermismooth effective to improve fine lines and improve skin tone and texture around the eyelids and mouth. It takes several treatments (typically we advise 3-4 performed every 2 weeks) and the improvement is gradual since it is the result of collagen production and your own skin "healing" and tightening as a response to the radiofrequency energy. Because the procedure has only been used for a couple of years, we can't tell for sure how long it will "last" on a given patient but the skin is permanently altered (improved) on biopsy so it results in a permanent improvement but the skin ages out of it and time marches on. Like most of these procedures periodic repeat treatments will be needed to keep the skin looking youthful. Your doctor can look at your skin and give you the best idea of what to expect because the results depend on the amount of improvement you will need.Best of luck.
