Will Fraxel 1540 help break up the remaining Juvederm causing unwanted volume on sides of mouth and above?

I am desperate. 3 months ago I had lip injections. I had hyluronidase conservatively, twice after. My problem stems from the Juvederm creating major puffiness outside my lips and an unnatural look when I talk or smile. I’m exhausted by this, I don’t want to leave my house. When the light hits my face there’s all kinds of weird lines and bumps not making it smooth like before. Why am I puffy above and outside my lips 3 months later? Had a laser center tell me fraxel 1540 might help break it up?

Unfortunately, laser treatments are not effective at breaking up or dissolving injectable fillers like Juvederm. Fractional lasers can help with wrinkles, fine lines, skin texture, skin quality, and pigment issues. Hyaluronidase will work to dissolve the product, but might not have been used in enough areas or enough times to completely remove the product. Be sure to see an expert physician who specializes in facial aesthetic procedures to let them evaluate your concerns and review options with you in detail.All the best,

No, this is unlikely to resolve your filler. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. It takes a series of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

No, Fraxel laser will not have any affect on fillers, however because Juvederm is a HA filler, and enzyme called Hylase can break up residual filler. 1-2 sessions needed. Bruising expected for a few days. Once dissolved, we can restart your lip rejuvenation process. Sounds like combination treatments with microneedling RF and fillers maybe your best solution. Lasers such as the Fraxel laser will not affect the Juvederm filler.  Please consult a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who can effectively dissolve the Juvederm.
