How long does it take to recover from laser lipo to the tummy/flanks, thighs and back?

Liposuction is an invasive procedure, so you should be prepared for some restrictions on your activities. The first two days you may be quite sore. You should also refrain from heavy lifting and other strenuous activities for about two weeks. However, that's just a guideline. Your body will let you know when it's ready to go back to “work.” One of my colleagues went on a 60-mile bike ride a day or so after liposculpture and he was fine. Consulting with a board-certified dermatologist will allow you to get a better idea of what you need to do to prepare for your laser liposculpture and recovery time.

Typical recovery from laser liposuction is anywhere between 3-5 days. Most patients describe recovery to feel like an intense workout with some tenderness and swelling of the area that was treated.

I advise my patients to take it easy the day of and after their surgery, as this will help speed up your healing process in the long run.

My patients are back to work within 3 days and back to exercising within 5.

Treating multiple areas at once may require a bit more downtime as each area being treated will feel sore and tender.

It would be in your best interest to at least give yourself at least 2-3 days post procedure before resuming normal activities.

Thank you for your question. One of the benefits of SmartLipo is the recovery generally doesn’t require the same amount of down time as traditional liposuction. Typically, most patients return to work the next day. However, it’s best to consult with your provider. 

As a general rule, the more areas are done, the longer the recovery.
We tend to do only 1-2 areas at a time, even when someone is requesting multiple areas.  Although this takes more time for the surgeon, it ultimately means:
a- Recovery is a cinch. People are up and about literally the next day and resuming major activity after roughly a week.
b- Pain is much, much less.  Clients are also less reluctant to get additional areas done in the future or to refer their friends.
c- There is much less risk. 
I would discuss these with your surgeon ahead of time if you haven't already had the procedure.

It typically takes 48 hours after Smart Lipo to recover. Typically performed on a Friday or a Saturday. Back to work on Monday. 

Most patients can resume working activities in two days after laser liposuction and full activities in one week.

Thank you for this wonderful question! Typically with liposuction my patients are up and moving around that night and easing back into normal daily activities over the next few days. I do request my patients to refrain from resuming normal vigorous activity, anything that will raise the heart rate, for the first 2 weeks following the procedure as this will subsequently increase your swelling. The areas treated will be sensitive and tender if you are to bump them although this is not a procedure that should require you to lay in bed for days on end. In fact it is good to be up and mobile as you heal.
