I have some acne and acne marks on my face , and also have freckles. I truly love my freckles, plus they’re like the only thing I like about my face and I really would not like to get rid of them. Would getting a chemical peel get rid of my freckles? If so, is there a way I could get a chemical peel with out getting rid of them?
Answer: Chemical peels can help reduce appearance of freckles caused by extreme sun exposure. Pair with IPL laser treatments Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Chemical Peels and Freckles Chemical Peels won't remove all of your freckles. You would have to do a Fraxel laser to remove the freckles. Don't worry that you will lose your freckles. You shouldn't be getting a peel that strong. Please consult an expert in chemical peels for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green

Answer: Getting rid of freckles with peels There are several peels on the market and most of them help with skin resurfacing and improving texture. Chemical peels would all over help even out your skin tone and help with sun damage, acne, acne scars, and much more. Although the peels might not get rid of your freckles completely it may lighten them up. If your scars are in specific areas on the face you may be able to spot treat them with the peel while avoiding certain areas the freckles are. Best- Alex Khadavi M.D.

Answer: Chemical peels can treat your acne without altering your natural beauty Thank you for your question. A chemical peel won't erase the freckles you love on your face. Chemical peel is a general term for a wide range of treatments we perform. They range from very light and superficial to medium, all the way to penetrating the deepest layers of the skin. The type and strength of peel that we use is based on what underlying skin condition we are trying to treat, the type of acid used, the amount of acid used, your ethnicity, skin tone, age, and whether or not we have prepped the skin before hand. For acne, we would be able to perform a peel light enough to treat acne lesions and scars without damaging the freckles.
