Asymmetry of scars, breast lower breasts and drain plug hole. Can I expect to gain symmetry in time?

Question

Hi,I can essay noticed that the scars are not even, one is perfectly straight while the other one slightly angled and longer. My surgeon confirmed this to be normal practice and to facilitate the surgery as he is right handed. Can you please inform if this is correct? Second the right breast, where the scar is angled is not fully round in the lower part as if the inner disconnection of the skin from body was not correctly done. Can I expect to gain simetry in time?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Generally, we wait 6 months before making a final opinion.  If 6 months has passed and you are still asymmetrical then you could use a revision.

It appears that you are very early in your post-operative healing and recovery. It takes a full year for a scar to completely heal and mature, and hopefully the scars will be minimal or close to invisible, in which case any asymmetry in the scar placement will be irrelevant.

It is best to stay in touch with your surgeon and follow his or her recommendations. If you do not feel comfortable with your surgeon then I recommend a second opinion in person. This far it appears you have a very nice result that should only get better over time. Felicitations.

From the photos it appears you are very early in your recovery.  More time is needed before judging your results.  Many changes will happen within the first 8-12 weeks after surgery, but final results won't be seen until about 6 months.

Your right implant is sitting a little high which will make the scars look uneven when they may actually be fairly even. Talk to your surgeon about helping the right breast settle with oral Accolate and external ultrasound treatments unless you are still very early in the healing process. If you are still early, then wearing the chest band will be helpful.

From the photos it appears that your breast augmentation was very recent.  Things will be expected to change over 6-12 months in regard to implant settling and scar maturation.  I can say that I have never intentionally asymmetrically altered the shape or position of a breast augmentation scar because I am right handed.  Breast implant settling might change the shape and position of your scars over time.  Even if they remain asymmetric they will likely be fairly well hidden under your breasts.  Good luck!

I suggest you give this some time to allow the scars to mature and fade out. The incisions are already made at this point and there really isn’t much that can be done about that now. Asymmetry is normal and all women have asymmetrical breast. Most people have a left breast that sits higher on the chest wall than the right(at least before surgery) In your case your left breast is also more laterally divergent than the right.
I suggest you focus on the primary outcome of the procedure rather than the scars which tend to fade and not be an issue long term.
