The scars are 25 years old as the surgery was done when i was 16 and they reach from my cleavage, under the bra crease and the tissue actually folds in on itself at the side of my breast. I'm in the Toronto area.
Answer: Breast Reduction Scars Sorry to hear that you have been struggling with these scars from your breast reduction in the past. The way that many surgeons do reductions has changed to avoid those scars on the underside of the breast that are very bothersome. While you cannot get rid of scars, if the scars are wide or tethered, it is possible that a scar revision can improve them. You would need to organize a consultation with a plastic surgeon to assess the scars and determine what may be feasible!

Answer: Injection therapy can help break down scar tissue Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Scars following breast reduction Hello and thank you for your question. This question is a little difficult to answer without photographs of the scars or an in-person physical exam. Overall, scar revision can definitely be done. This may entail cutting out the old scar and revising the "folds." There are also other possible treatments depending on how bad the scaring is. These treatments include lasers, microneedling, and PRP amongst other things. The best thing to do at this point is set up a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. The surgeon will be able to guide you through the best possible options for. I hope this helps.

Answer: Scar revisions can always be done so schedule a visit with a local plastic surgeon to see what can be done for you. I'm positive the major issues you have can be improved considerably with a revision that can often be done in the office under local alone.
