I have a seroma after a car accident, and I'm 2 weeks post tummy tuck. What can I do?

Hello I am about two weeks PO tummy tuck, I was healing beautifully until over the weekend I had a terrible accident and was dragged by a car, I went to the ER and they checked everything I'm fine but the past few days my stomach has been full of fluid, I'm so nervous I think I may need to be drained, I called my surgeon the only problem is I live in CT and he's in Miami so it's really no help, I doubt the emergency room will help

Thank you for your question. I'm terribly sorry about your condition. You may have a hematoma or seroma, but only a physical examination can diagnose this. You need to be assessed by a plastic surgeon in your area. I recommend calling several local plastic surgeons and finding a surgeon who will take on your care. If you have worsening symptoms, you may need to return to the ER. Sometimes an academic hospital can also provide services to you. Best of luck!

That's a common problem when you have discount surgery in Miami.   Unfortunately, when patients develop problems, they rarely fly back to see their Miami doctor.   Then the problem is finding another doctor to take care of you.   Most doctors do not want to take care of another doctors complications.   Unfortunately, this is something I see in my office all the time.  Patients fly to the D.R. or Miami where surgery is cheap then come to my office for follow up when they start developing problems.  It sounds like you have either a hematoma or seroma.  You need to call several docs in your area until you find someone who is willing to take care of you.   The ER is an option if you are having pain or fevers.  But, otherwise, I would search for a Plastic Surgeon in your area who is willing to take care of you.   DiscoverTheBeauty.com
