Does hyaluronidase only resolve where it’s been injected?

I had my jowl and chin done, it didn’t look right my skiin sag more, went back last Monday 11/06 to get it resolved. Looks like it’s all gone so had my cheeks done yesterday 16/06 which only slight lifted the sagging Jowl I ask them the Hyaluronidase wouldn’t effect my cheek filler they said “ No” it only effects the place it’s been injected. This true? when I ask about my lips she told me to wai at least 2 weeks can you ressure me that with having the above it won’t effect my cheek filler?

Hyaluronidase only works where it is injected. In your case, it shouldn't impact your cheek filler. Hope this helps.

Longterm filler problems include migration, edema, and nodularity. Filler migration and permanence is a very common problem because there are many different types of HA fillers on the market and each is specified for a specific part of the face. Use of highly cohesive fillers on thin skin may cause swelling and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or nodules, we recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes Hylenex and Hyaluronidase in different strengths to dissolve the filler. We may also need to add Kenalog to the mix in order to reduce fibrous tissue. If the filler does not dissolve, it either means the filler is not HA material or we need more enzyme. The HA reversal can be combined with other lasers and skin treatments at the same time, and it usually (usually) does not affect adjacent tissue.

Yes, hyaluronidase will only work where injected. It will take 1-2 weeks for the results of your treatment. Keep in mind, a series of treatments may be needed to dissolve filler. Best, Dr. Emer
