Is it safe to get Juvederm injections whilst taking oral itraconazole?

I have been getting Juvederm lip injections every few months for several years. Recently, after a course of antibiotics I developed oral thrush. I am planning to have lip injections in a few weeks when I come to the end of my itraconazole course and the thrush has gone. Some of the itraconazole may still be In my system-is this safe?

As long as your infection has cleared and you have completed your medication course it should be fine for you to have lip injections.  Be sure to discuss the situation with your injector just to be sure.

Hello and thank you for your question. To my knowledge there wouldn’t be any problem taking an antibiotic and Juvederm. That being said, you should not have Juvederm injected while you have an active infection. I suggest being clear of the infection for at least 1 week, preferably 2 before your procedure. Best wishes.

Antibiotics should not interact with Juvederm.  However, you will not want to have an active infection for at least 1-2 weeks before being injected with filler.  Always consult with your Master Injector before treating!
