Man “boobs” maybe caused by excessive fat, actual breast tissue or both.Gynecomastia is a hormonal condition in which males develop more thanthe normal amount of breast tissue. In a true case of gynecomastia,CoolSculpting may not help much, as it only treats the fat bylowering the temperature sufficiently to send fat cells intoapoptosis (slow cell death) and would not reduce the breast tissue. However, if your enlarged breasts are mostly composed of fat, thenCoolSculpting will offer you an effective and noninvasive solution. Two treatments or more may be required, but a flat chest can beattained! You will need to be evaluated by a board-certifieddermatologist to find out if your enlarged male breasts can beresolved or improved with CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting can be a great treatment for men with "pseudo-gynecomastia" which is male breasts caused by fat alone. However, most men have "true gynecomastia" which is a combination of fat and breast tissue. Men with true gynecomastia will not benefit from CoolSculpting as only the fat will be reduced and the remaining breast tissue may appear even more pronounced. True gynecomastia only can be treated by liposuction and surgical excision. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting can definitely treat this area. An in person assessment is best to determine if you are a candidate and to create a customized treatment plan. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Regards,
Thank you very much for your question. Yes,the CoolSculpting procedure can be effective at eliminating excess breast fat tissuein many patients. CoolSculpting can reduce areas of isolated fatty tissue by25-30%, including fat cells in the male breast. However, without photographs oran in-person examination, it is difficult to determine if CoolSculpting isright for your situation. I recommend that you schedule a consultation with aboard certified plastic surgeon, experienced in the CoolSculpting procedure.He/she can determine if CoolSculpting is the right technique to treat yourgynecomastia.
Coolsculpting can definitely improve "man boobs" and without any downtime. You will need at least two treatments per side. If you want an extreme reduction, then you may want to consider seeing a board certified plastic surgeon to have a discussion about your surgical options.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa Aesthetic Centers
Male breast enlargement is often a combination of both extra fat and extra breast tissue (referred to as gynecomastia), and sometimes extra skin as well (as in the case of patients who have had massive weight loss). Techniques such as Coolsculpting or liposuction will address any fat that's causing the breast enlargement, but they won't address gynecomastia tissue or excess skin. Depending upon a patients anatomy, Coolsculpting may be a reasonable option, although an evaluation by a plastic surgeon knowledgeable about surgical management of gynecomastia or excess skin will be best to understand all the potential options. In order to get a qualified, ethical, and expert opinion on your surgical options and expectations, schedule an in-person office consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.Best of luck,Keith M. The male chest area (man boobs) can be successfully treatment with CoolSculpting as long as the enlargement is due to fat and not glandular tissue. You would need an in-person consultation and evaluation to determine if the treatment is appropriate for you. Most men need between 2-3 treatments for optimal results. Make sure you see an experienced provider. Best wishes.
The male enlarged breast will usually respond well to CoolSculpting. A technique utilizing overlap is commonly performed. Sometimes a precautionary mammogram is obtained.
I have treated male patients with excessive breasts (gynecomastia) using CoolSculpting and seen improvement. It is possible that more than one treatment would be needed to obtain the best result.
Coolsculpting can be effective for removing excess fat in the chest area. You would need few treatments and it would not be completely gone but reduced significantly. Still, not every case is the same. You may need combination approach or some other treatment. It all depends on several factors. I advise you to make an appointment with board certified physician to get examined and find out what is the best treatment option for you. Good luck!
This is normal occurrence and bloating and swelling occurs for the first few weeks. If you are feeling overly uncomfortable and if it is not going away make sure to have follow up appointment with your provider. Good luck!
It is safe and it can be effective to combine Coolsculpting and Ultherapy, regardless what treatment is done first. It all depends on how many treatments of Coolsculpting you decide to undergo and percentage of fat being removed. If you have additional sagging skin after Coolsculpting results,...
Hi There, Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting is not FDA approved for this particular area, therefore it is considered “off label”. I would recommend having a consultation with a physician to see which treatment option would be best suited for you.
