Breast augmentation complications and pain. Is this an Infection? (Photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. It does appear that you had an infection and possible threatened implant with your procedure. Hopefully you are currently doing better with your revision procedure.

It seems that there is fluid collection, but it is highly likely that a relatively clear fluid without infection is a seroma. When the fluid is accompanied by a bacterial infection, the fluid becomes turbid, and the chest becomes red and feverish. It doesn't seem to have progressed to severe infection yet, but I think we need to remove the fluid properly and treat it well and re-suture it so that the incisions don't spread. Antibiotic therapy to prevent infection is also needed.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

You need to be checked by your surgeon now. Just looking at your first photo, you implant may be attempting to become exposed. Please do not wait.

Your photos indicate a definite concern and possible infection. I hope that you were able to have the situation addressed, corrected, and are back to good health at this time.

This does indeed look like a soft tissue infection likely starting from a suture abscess that might have extended down to the implant, explaining your complete right-sided breast pain - though at times just a local soft tissue infection can cause pain that radites along the whole aspect of a side as well. Did you ever have the implant removed or exchanged? How are you doing now?

From your photos, I note what appears to be images taken at different times: the first photo demonstrates a large vesicle at the lateral aspect of the incision; the second photo demonstrates a small vesicle or perhaps fluid emanating from a skin defect along the incision line with surrounding inflammation. There is breast size asymmetry.
Imminent implant exposure? Seroma? Infection?
Revisit your plastic surgeon ASAP for further discussion of treatment options.

Hello and thanks for your question. For the best assessment, We have to know the details of the previous surgery you had but based on your pictures, It seems that you have seroma on your breast. There are different treatment options for the seroman side effect. The revision surgery can be planned or blister can be drained and observing the recovery process. I advise you to consult with your plastic surgeon again to find out the problems and possible treatment options.
