I had deep plane facelift 10 months ago. I had some minor tingling in front of my ears and under my jaw. My surgeon told these would disappear with time. But the tingling is still there 10 months after the operation, and jaw and cheeks feel really tight. I haven’t received any instructions from my surgeon of what to do. I can feel my face 24/7 and it’s very disturbing. The results from the operation were very modest, I barely see any improvement so suffering this makes me really sad. Any hope?

As with any surgery, you must allow sufficient time to heal. Immediately after surgery you will have bruising and swelling. My patients typically have a head wrap on for 48 hours, and can shower 2-3 days after surgery. Very light activity for 5-7 days. May return to light exercise at two weeks,...
This seems to have lasted longer than usual. You may consider with your surgeon going back in and releasing any deep sutures that were used to tighten the SMAS. These may be pinching a nerve or just too tight.
