Breast lift with or without implants? (Photo)

Question

I'm not sure if I'm the right candidate for a breast lift with implants. I never had children I used to carry quite a lot of weight in my breasts and now they're saggy after losing quite a lot in short time. Fear of bottoming out or needing a lift again in 4years makes me question if I really 'need' implants. I don't want to lose my cup size but I also don't want massive boobs again. thanks in advance

I would do the lift only. It looks like you have enough breast tissue. Because your nipples are very low, trying to place implants at the same time as the lift complicates things tremendously. Even if you wanted implants I would do this in two stages. Lift first. Implants later if you want.

Your breast has the perfect shape to perform a breast pexy (lift) and a reconfiguration of the tissue, to lift it and give it a good shape. It would have a very favorable esthetic result because you have good mammary gland. This would give a very good shape without the need to insert prosthesis. In person exam is essential. Based on limited photos - it appears that you would benefit from a breast lift. You have sufficient volume. If you desire slightly more volume then smaller implants can create more upper pole fullness.

Hello and thank you for your question! The breast lift alone with raise and reshape the breasts to a more youthful contour and position whereas adding implants to the mix will serve to increase your volume/cup size and fill out the upper slope of the breast to give you more "cleavage". If you don't wise to have implants, you don't need them! Another great option is to use your own fat with fat grafting/transfer to achieve the extra fullness/roundness on the top part of the breast without needing to add an implant.

I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. The technique I recommend is a lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Breast lift will definitely correct sagging from weight loss. This will raise your breasts, they may appear smaller but perkier.

Future changes may occur from pregnancy, hormone, weight changes, skin, etc regardless if you have implants or not.

You appear to have full cup size without implants. However, if you want upper fullness without wearing a bra, then implants would help with the lift. Size would be modest for fullness and not massive.

An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to further discuss your options and expectations.

Thanks for your question. Whether or not you need implants is a completely personal decision. If you undergo a breast lift without implants the breasts will have a small decrease in size. If this doesn't bother you, a breast lift alone is a better option because you would avoid any potential issues related to having breast implants. Take care.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. It is difficult to say without examining you. A breast lift can be performed with or without implants, depending on your aesthetic goals. A breast lift removes excess/sagging skin to lift your breasts without removing excess breast/glandular tissue. A breast augmentation increases the size of your breast. This can be performed using implants or it is also possible to achieve a fuller look without implants using a technique called autologous (meaning “your own”) fat transfer. Using this technique, specially prepared fat is taken from one part of your body (such as your hips, back, or abdomen/tummy) and injected into the breasts to create a fuller appearance without an artificial implant. I perform these techniques in our fully-accredited operating room under IV sedation administered by board-certified anesthesiologists as an outpatient procedure. It is important to have realistic goals and to have a thorough and open discussion about your goals with your plastic surgeon to help achieve your goals.
