I have always had a droopy eyelid, I wanted to get dysport to lift it up. I heard that you can actually inject dysport into the actual eyelid. I was curious how many units would I need to correct my droopy eyelid?
Answer: Non-Surgical Chemical Brow Lift for Eyelid Rejuvenation -- add Ultherapy, Thread Lifting, RF Skin Tightening, Laser Treatments As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. In some cases, surgery is the best solution to achieve the desired results. See an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Ptosis From your submitted photos it appears you have ptosis of the eyelid. This cannot be treated with neuromodulators such as Dysport of Botox which actually work to relax injected muscles. Surgery is needed for correction.

Answer: Options for Ptosis Hello persistent. It looks like you have s condition called ptosis, which is a drooping of the eyelid. For the type of ptosis you have, Dysport or Botox cannot help much. Your best bet is ptosis surgery where the muscle that supports the lid is shortened to lift it in line with the other one. Non-surgically, you may consider Upneeq, a newer medication that contracts that same muscle lifting the eyelid temporarily.

Answer: This is profound upper eyelid ptosis. Dysport is a botulinum toxin. It's clinical effect is no different than the effect of any other FDA approved botulinum toxin A product. The use of botulinum toxin to help upper eyelid ptosis is described but the effects are minimal and the effect is short acting. Consequently, this treatment is really not worth your while. I also don't endorse the expensive product called upneeq eye drops. These drops also can be used for mild ptosis. You need surgery to address your upper eyelid ptosis. Be aware that there are two commonly performed types of ptosis surgery: posterior and anterior ptosis surgery. Posterior ptosis surgery is also called Mueller's muscle conjunctival resection ptosis surgery is the most popular form of ptosis surgery. Surgeons love this procedure because surgery can be performed quickly and the anatomy is straight forward. Presumably you have a central levator disinsertion ptosis (needs to be confirmed with a detailed in person assessment). Posterior approach ptosis surgery will not be successful for your issue. Rather you likely need an anterior levator resection ptosis surgery performed thorough a crease incision. There is not substitute for a detailed in person assessment.

Answer: Re: How many units of Dysport for droopy eyelids? (Photo) Firstly, unilateral brow ptosis should be checked on medically to rule out certain medical conditions. However, potential treatments would include neurotoxin in the mid to lateral obicularis oris muscle, which would require one to three units of botox. Also, it is important to see a credentialed experienced provider for any treatments. Another potential option would be Upneeq (metazoline) eye drops, which stimulate lid lift. Hope this helps. Regards,Dr. Larry Thiesen
