I am looking to get Dysport in my glabella area and would like conservative treatment to retain facial expressiveness for my upcoming wedding. If I get treatment in the glabella area giving this conservative guidance to the injector, what should I expect? Will this muscle be completely frozen and unable to move (assuming I would still be able to move untreated areas of my face like my lateral corrugations and frontalis)? Or would a typical goal in this situation be to just soften muscle movement
Answer: Dysport, neurotoxins, dynamic lines, relax By injecting a small amount of Dysport into this area, the muscles will relax, causing the hard, deeps lines to smooth and improving the lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators take 2 to 4 weeks to start working and lasts for up to six months. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Dysport This is where an expert injector comes in! The goal for neuromodulators like Dysport is to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles while maintaining a natural look. Some patients do want a "frozen" look which is possible, but it is more common for our patients to want a softer look. As we say in our practice: You. Only better.

Answer: The Goal Of Neurotoxin Treatments Is To Soften Muscle Movement, NOT Freeze them. I began injecting Botox for cosmetic reasons back in 1991. At that time of its infancy, the goal of treatment was to freeze the muscles. But it soon became apparent that creating porcelainized faces, like those of Kabuki dancers was unnatural and undesirable. From that point on and for the past more than a quarter of century, the goal of treatment with any of the neurotoxins, whether Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Juveau, etc., is to simply soften the muscular movement so that exaggerated muscular overactivity no longer contributes to the etching and creasing of the overlying fabric of the skin. You would be wise to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience in this area. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Answer: Is the goal of Dysport to completely paralyze treated muscles or just soften muscle movement? The goal of Dysport, like other botulinum toxin type A injections used for cosmetic purposes, is not to completely paralyze treated muscles but rather to soften muscle movement. Dysport works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines caused by repetitive facial expressions. When administered appropriately by a trained healthcare professional, Dysport injections target specific facial muscles to achieve a more relaxed and smoother appearance, while still allowing for natural facial expressions. The aim is to soften and reduce the intensity of muscle movements, rather than completely immobilizing them. The degree of muscle relaxation achieved with Dysport can be adjusted based on the individual's desired outcome and the area being treated. Healthcare providers typically tailor the treatment to each patient's unique facial anatomy and aesthetic goals, aiming for a natural-looking result that preserves facial expressiveness while minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and lines. It's important to undergo Dysport injections by a skilled and experienced healthcare provider who has expertise in facial anatomy and administering injectable treatments. This helps ensure safe and effective treatment outcomes while minimizing the risk of adverse effects or over-treatment. Additionally, patients should communicate their aesthetic goals and concerns with their provider to achieve satisfactory results.
