PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) are both used for hair loss, but PRF often offers more sustained results. PRF is processed at a lower speed and for a shorter time compared to PRP, which helps preserve more viable cells in the plasma. This results in a gel-like matrix that releases growth factors slowly over time, potentially leading to longer-lasting effects and more effective hair growth stimulation.
Dear patientAnswering to your question both work the same, with PRP you need to use an activator while with PRF you don't need too.good luck and best of health
I personally haven’t compared the two treatments for hair loss. I prefer PRF for facial rejuvenation and certain musculoskeletal conditions. Theoretically, PRF which is the next generation of PRP should be better since the Growth factors released from the platelets are released over weeks when PRF is used as opposed to PRP which is released and dissipates within hours. The slow release of growth factors seems to be more effective.
The SELPHYL® System is designed for the safe and rapid preparation of Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) from a smaller sample of blood at the patient point. PRFM contains growth factors and stem cells. It is a more concentrated preparation compared to PRP. It is a also a closed system enhancing sterility.
