Can hair loss due to dandruff be regrown by PRP?

I have dandruff and hair loss then I shaved my hairs my density increased but still there is existence of dandruff along with some very very tiny hairs falling out. Will PRP be able to regrown my hairs?

You need a formal evaluation to see what type of hair loss you may have. when you have hairless its best to do a full hormonal workup for internal optimization plus scalp biopsies or scrapings to rule out any stress related, inflammatory, autoimmune or infectious causes of hair loss. In general most people with early hair loss have telogen (stress related) and/or androgenetic (normal aging) and both can be treated with in office treatments like steroid injections, PRP/acell, Exosomes and at home treatments like oral medications, oral vitamins like Viviscal, topical exfoliating sprays like Restorsea, and weekly growth factors like anteagemd. Dandruff can play a factor for your hair loss. Definitely, you need a healthy scalp to prevent hair loss. Then you have to look for other predisposing factors for hair loss such as age and hair loss patter, hair loss classification, genetics, habits, diet if hair loss continues.

I always recommend that patients have conditions such as Seborrheic dermatitis (often the cause of dandruff) treated by medications or shampoo such as Nizoral concurrently with PRP treatment. While we generally use PRP for patients suffering from Androgenetic alopecia, it’s not uncommon for PRP to help with a wide variety of hair loss conditions. Most of our patients, even ones with more severe causes of hair loss (e.g. Traction alopecia), can see improvement in hair density so I think it would be worth it for you to pursue PRP (assuming there are no other significant medical issues).

PRP does work for hair loss due to dandruff. I would recommend combining the PRP with shampoos that address dandruff with the active medical ingredients Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione shampoo.

no one knows for sure, who will be helped by PRP. however, it is super safe. There are good studies showing there is an increase in both number of hair follicles. and the density of the hair itself. You should plan to do 3 sessions, each a month apart.

Dandruff doesn't cause hair loss, Your genetics cause hair loss. You can treat the dandruff with good topical shampoos
