Hello, thank you for your question. Botox should last around 3-4 months, and if you do not see results, you may need a touchup or an increased dose of Botox. Botox can also be used in combination with dermal fillers like Juvederm, which can target wrinkles in the glabellar furrow. It is important to consult with an experienced, qualified injector to ensure the correct dosage, placement, and natural results.

Wrinkles initially only happen with muscle movement (ie smile lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines). Repeated creasing of the skin in the same place will eventually make these wrinkles more permanent. Botox is used to treat wrinkles that happen with muscle movement. If you still have muscle movement, then you may still get improvement in the wrinkles if the muscle is blocked further. Botox should last 4 months, so the Botox has worn off too early. You may need more Botox injected or a different product (ie Xeomin or Dysport). If you have no muscle movement between the eyebrows, the Botox is working correctly, so it would imply the wrinkles are more permanent. You may have had initial improvement because of swelling or extra fluid injected with the Botox. You may need filler to get rid of the wrinkles.

If you are able to furrow your brow and there is muscle movement, then you can expect more improvement with a Botox touch up. I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation. Sometimes a touch up is needed to achieve your customized results.
