Is there a way to correct the lump of filler under my eye without hollowing out the whole under eye?
Answer: Hyaluronidase Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin - Winnetka & Chicago. This is a great question. Yes, there is a way to correct a lump of filler under the eye without completely hollowing out the entire under-eye area. This can often be done using a targeted, conservative approach with hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Rather than dissolving all the filler, an injection of hyaluronidase directly into the lumped or migrated area is recommended to soften or flatten the area of concern—leaving the rest of the filler intact to maintain volume where it's still working well. This technique requires a skilled hand, because the under-eye area (tear trough) is extremely delicate, and overtreatment can lead to unwanted hollowness, shadowing, or contour irregularities. In some cases, multiple micro-dissolving sessions are preferred to gradually correct the issue while preserving balance. After the lump is corrected, if there’s any mild hollowing or asymmetry left behind, it can usually be refined later with a smaller amount of appropriately placed filler, using a cannula for safety and precision. I hope this helps and best of luck!
