I had a rhinoplasty 8 months ago where my bump was shaved down and the tip was lifted. For a few months I have noticed a small bump. I thought it was just swelling but now 8 months in I am starting to get concerned because the bump is still there
Answer: Thinking about revision rhinoplasty? Here's what you need to know Hello, and thank you for your question. In addition to needing a proper evaluation to determine what your specific case is, it is too soon to assume you’ve already achieved your full rhinoplasty results. It isn't until a full year after the procedure that results are truly definitive. Your nose could still have persistent swelling and may still change in appearance during that time. Patience is key for now. But if after a full year the bump is still present, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Your surgeon will evaluate your nose, determine your eligibility for revision rhinoplasty, recommend the best approach to address your concerns and goals, and help ensure the best possible outcome.

Answer: Bump of bridge after rhinoplasty: Bump of bridge after rhinoplasty: A residual bump on the bridge of the nose after rhinoplasty could be one of several things. It might be some residual bone that was not rasped down sufficiently, or some callus formation on the top edge of the rasped bone, or an edge of the upper lateral Cartlidge, a piece of cartilaginous debris left behind, or a portion of a graft that was inserted if you had any graft placed on the dorsum of the nose. Which of these do you have could only be determined by an in person examination along with review of the operative report. You should see your own surgeon and ask him since he knows firsthand what was done.

Answer: Bump after rhinoplasty Dear jasjas97, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. It is difficult to know without an in-person examination what the cause of the bump could be. It may be a cartilage prominence, bony prominence, or cartilage grafting (if that was used). I recommend consultation with your surgeon or a board-certified facial plastic surgeon for an in-person examination. Best of luck!

Answer: Nasal bump Generally there is an anatomical bump at the junction of the nasal bridge bone and cartilage. It may be that the initial swelling was hiding the bony/cartilaginous bump. If the bump persists, it might require further reduction of the bone/cartilage to lower the bump. Hope this helps
