Had abdominal etching 2 years ago. Doesn’t look terrible but I think my abs look too fake. Is there a way to fix this? (photo)

this looks pretty natural and most guys would kill to look like this. if you want the etching reversed there are options such as filling the lines or redoing the liposuction to remove fat around the lines. its difficult and needs an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question regarding what to do with your abs two years after abdominal etching. I agree your abs don't look terrible, but if you think they are overdone, they can be corrected. It would be corrected with liposuction. Since you previously had liposuction, revisional liposuction should be done with the VASER. Therefore, I suggest undoing or making the ab etching look less severe with further VASER lipo. Please seek a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in VASER liposuction.

Thanks for your question and the photos you provided. This is a photo my patients would likely bring in for a “wish pic.” It is hard to imagine why you are unsatisfied. To make your results “worse” you can consider doing less abdominal exercise in the gym. Good luck!

Looks like you could have some room for additional lipo to remove more fat. This might achieve more of the look you are going for. Good luck!

Hi!There is definitely a way to reverse abdominal etching. Is done with new liposuction and a very meticulous equalization. In that way, the risk for skin irregularities is minimized. VASER will improve skin tightening.

I have treated patients before who are no longer happy with their abdominal etching. This is one of the reasons why I tend to avoid performing etching type procedure on patients. It can look great immediately after surgery, but does not maintain a natural look in the long term since it does not continue age or change naturally with the rest of your body. The process to revise this is more challenging than the original surgery. The puffy areas will need liposuction to reduce their volume. You may also need fat reinjected into the etched areas in order to soften the lines. It is unlikely that you will ever be able to return to having a completely smooth look but it can be improved.
