Hi, I decided not to get lipo on my arms because I heard it's the most complained about area regarding results. I'd like to start working out my arms but I will be recovering from lipo to abdomen, waist, flanks, back, maybe bra strap area, and thighs. How soon after lipo to those areas can I lift light weights with just my arms?

Answer: Most patients return to the gym in 1 week post op liposuction Don't give up on your arms. Liposuction does great for arms but you need to go to a doc who really specializes in the arms and calves which there are only a few of us around. Most patients get back to work in 2 days and back to the gym in 1 week after liposuction. It is usually longer recovery and more painful if you go the cheap route of laser lipo and general anesthesia.

Answer: Exercise after Liposuction-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding exercise after liposuction. After hi definition liposuction, I recommend waiting 3-4 weeks before beginning to exercise and to stop if there is any discomfort. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer
