Tumescent liposuction is the standard form of liposuction we now perform, on all body types. From your photo, you don’t seem to have any extra fat at all. I’m assuming that what you want to do is accentuate your musculature and definition. This is a form of tumescent liposuction sometimes referred to as “liposculpture” that uses mini cannulas (small straws) to create highly detailed differences in your fat distribution and really make muscles “pop,” without creating divots. This is an advanced procedure, so you’ll need to find an expert. Please take your time to find a board-certified dermatologist to help you get the look you want with tumescent liposculpture.
Tumescent liposculpture is used on everyone and is done under local with the microcanulas. It is the gold standard and you are awake and comfortable and able to stand up during the procedure so your doc can fine tune the results.
Liposuction is routinely done with tumescent fluid for safety and is used to remove excess areas of fat, even on those who are slim.
Tumescent liposculpture would be an excellent choice for treating thinner patients needing precise fat removal. Experience is very important. Seek out a board certified Dermatologic surgeon with experience in this type of liposuction . Good luck, Dr Crabtree
Injecting fluid before performing liposuction (Tumescent) has become the standard of care. Tumescence reduces bleeding, bruising and improves the safety. It also allows more fat to be removed with a lower risk of contour deformities. SAFELipo is a specific type of liposuction with the lowest rate of contour deformities and works especially well for thinner patients. I would recommend finding a surgeon certified in SAFELipo. Hope that this helps.
You are swelling from liposuction and may not see any changes yet. You will actually be your most swollen by the end of the first week. I am sure your surgeon discussed this with you. Be patient.
Don't let your skin wrinkle under your compression garment, but try to stretch it out. Use foam padding if needed. You are swollen now, but you don't want the wrinkles to stay unless you have too much loose skin.
No, that is not normal results and you may need another month of compression. Please let your surgeon check you.
