VY lip lift vs. traditional lip lift? (Photo)

Question

I'm comparing lip lifting procedures to hopefully improve how much of my top teeth show when I smile. My top lip also points down a bit when I smile, so I hope to have that fixed too. I know I have a very small mouth with thin lips, so I definitely don't expect to look like Angelina Jolie afterwards; I just hope to feel more comfortable when smiling. I tried lip fillers, and they were okay, but I would prefer a longer lasting result. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!!

lip lift would do you well but I still t hink you need fillers and daily hydration and plumping (lip rolling kit or essentials kit from emeragecosmetics.com).
lip fillers and lift will not help the corners of your mouth, that needs botox, threads or a lip corner lift.  sometimes an early face/neck lift helps. accutite can be a non invasive alternative. I would use daily hydration and plumping (see emeragecosmetics.com lip essentials kit).  everyone can do a little filler when done well really gives nice hydration and plumping.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The VY lip lift is often performed with corrective jaw surgery and in that situation it can provide a nice result. As an isolated procedure, the results are not sufficient enough to provide the lift that you need. Based on the measured distance between your nose and lip, a traditional lip lift is likely the preferred technique.

Your lips -the red part is thin and would benefit with a fat augmentation procedure. Your lip lift should be an M type as the Bullhorn can leave a bad scar that is visible even done by a goog surgeon. I have used this combination for 46 years with no serious complication and NO REVISIONS.

You appear to have a long upper lip which means you will be better served with a lip lift rather than a v-y advancement. The goal is to have more teeth show when you smile and a small 1-1.5mm of teeth show with your lips relaxed. Looking at these photos, I think you would benefit from a lip lift to improve the upper lip proportion. It can give you more red lip show, more teeth show, and it can improve the smile. Keep in mind that smiling is a dynamic action of muscles so some aspects of it cannot be changed but overall you would most likely be happy. Type of liplift is determined during the consultation and depends on the anatomy of the nose and lip junction. Best wishes.
