Is there treatment for thickened upper lip and chronic numbness 1 year after my lip lift?

1 yr ago I underwent a bullhorn lip lift with a muscle plication. 6mm was removed . From the vermillion border to the base of the nares is significantly thickened. It is convex rather than concave. It is also extremely numb. The surgeon has repeatedly injected 5FU and steroids into the incision. No improvement. 1. What caused this? 2. Is there a treatment? 3. Will this get better? Thank you for any advice.

A lip lift may sound scary, but it's the best for upper tooth show.  "Threads" won't work and won't last.  Botulinum may give you a slight roll for a while - but won't last and won't be predictable.  A lip lift does it right.
