That's a new one on me, but practicing in Southern California, our winters are mild so I wouldn't know for sure.
The pain associated with a rhinoplasty is mild and patient's take just a few pain pills during the postoperative course. We do not place any packing inside the nose, therefore it is not very painful. The nose bridge line is tender if bumped for the first couple months after the procedure. The nose does not hurt during the winter after osteotomies of the nasal bones
When I did a lot of hand surgery, patients did indeed complain of greater pain from old injuries during the cold winter. I have not heard that from my rhinoplasty patients, however. Anything can occur after a surgery, but I would think this risk is relatively low versus the benefits of an indicated rhinoplasty.
That is a myth which is not supported by any factual information. If the appearance of you nose concerns you enopugh to do something about it, I would suggest\ that you find a surgeon certifiedby the American Board of American Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally amember of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that youtrust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with thatsurgeon in person.Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla,California

The old dogma that there is swelling after surgery is true, however swelling after hump removal should show a nose that is swollen evenly, the overall nose should appear bigger, BUT without the hump. There is a simple test you can do at home. Push on the hump for about 30 seconds, if there...
The answer to your question depends upon the degree of collapse of your valve, whether it is just functionally impaired or if it is visually contracted also. A spreader graft can open the valve on the affected side and also restore contour on the contracted side and it can be done on one side...
Dear ycobb74It is really difficult to build up the courage to go ahead with having surgery and it is even more difficult to have an outcome that you did not expect. It is hard to decifer from the pictures, however, one consistent fact is that the body has a miraculous ability to heal. I would...
