I had 1/2 a syringe of restylane injected in my top lip on Saturday. After dinner that day I started feeling really nauseous so I induced vomiting which helped for an hour or so but then I started throwing up more that night and some the next day. I noticed after I had induced vomiting that my lip seemed to look less full than it had earlier in the day. Could the strain of that have messed up my results so I need to redo it or is it more likely that was just swelling that subsided?

Answer: Lip augmentation Results with Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella) after Vomiting
Hi @LisaBelle24. Thank you for sending your photos. Based on your photos, it looks like the filler was placed very superficial. If the swelling does not resolve after a couple of weeks, I recommend dissolving the product with Hyaluronidase. Best of luck to you, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for your question! Swelling can happen with any type of injection, so you may have swelling after hyaluronidase which may last several days. Also, it can take a series of treatments to fully dissolve filler. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon....
Hi @AxlRose22. Gently massaging the area should be okay to help resolve the lump, but I would advise against an aggressive massage since this can create more swelling and will prolong healing time. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
