Should I massage lumps that came a day after Restylane in my lips?

Thank you for your question! Gentle massaging of the product is typically okay and can help reduce the size and appearance of lumps. Ice can also aid in reducing any swelling. I would wait 2-4 weeks for the product to settle. If you still have the bump, hylenex can be used to dissolve the product. Please consult an experienced injector to address your needs. 

Swelling and/or lumps can be typical and may last 1-2 weeks. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Yes, there can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Gentle massage of the lump is okay if your provider said it was. I would follow up with your injector directly if you are unsure. Sometimes massage can worsen bruising/swelling. Additionally, fillers can take up to 2 weeks to settle. Your final results will be at 2 weeks. If you are unhappy at that time, I recommend following up with your injector.

It is okay to gently massage the area in which there is a lump formation, if your provider advised you to do so. Be patient, full results can take up to two weeks. Generally lumps in the lips after injection is due to uneven injection and massage between the forefinger and thumb to even out the area helps but ask your doctor to be sure
