This problem on my face causes me to have a smaller eye than the other and when i smile only 1 dimple appears on the left side . Its weird . Can i fix this without the need of surgery ?
Answer: Best Treatment for Facial Asymmetry Hi V,There are many reasons for facial asymmetry including differences in the bone, fat, and muscle between each side of the face. It is very common to have some facial asymmetry. It can be corrected with non-surgical treatments, mainly fillers. Make sure that you choose your injecting physician most carefully for best results. Good luck and be well.Michael Persky, MDEncino, CA

Answer: Facial Asymmetry Great question! It looks like you have something called facial asymmetry, which is, as the name describes, some asymmetry in a part of your face when compared to the opposite side. This is fairly normal and most people have some degree of asymmetry. One thing I would consider with the eye asymmetry is a scan of your face (CT scan), as I have seen some patients with asymmetry such as yours have something called "silent sinus" where your cheek sinus never fully developed and over time can lead to asymmetry in the height/position of the eyes. The other thought or suggestion would be whether a trial of something like botox or filler to the area can get you closer to the results you desire. Hope this helps!Kyle Kimura, MD

Answer: Understanding Facial Asymmetry: Causes and Non-Surgical Solutions Facial asymmetry, where one side of the face appears chubbier or slightly different than the other, is a common occurrence and can result from various factors like genetics, uneven muscle use, posture, or habits such as chewing on one side. Differences in eye size and dimples are also normal variations of facial structure. Non-surgical solutions to address asymmetry include facial exercises, physical therapy, or aesthetic treatments like neuromodulators and dermal fillers to balance facial proportions. A consultation with a professional can help you explore options tailored to your concerns.

Answer: Non-surgical options for asymmetry As humans, we tend to be overly critical of ourselves, and I believe you are looking too closely at yourself. No two sides of the face are absolutely identical, so therefore, striving for perfect symmetry is not the recipe for happiness. As a board certified plastic surgeon, I regularly consult with patients about facial asymmetry – and when it is extremely pronounced, I suggest ways to correct it. While one side of your face is fuller than the other, you appear to be quite young, and some of the “baby fat” might easily equalize over time. I would not recommend adding dermal filler, because it could make you look too puffy. I can assure you that people passing you by in the street or in casual conversation are not noticing what you notice!

Answer: Facial asymmetry Facial asymmetry is quite common but not easily fixed, even with surgery. You can have fillers to increase the size of the smaller half of your face, but they are limited in what they can accomplish, and probably not worth what it would end up costing.
