I'm 4 weeks post op and have visible spitting permanent sutures. Should I have the visible parts removed?

Hello,Gore Tex is unlikely going to spit in multiple locations, usually only at the knot. It is a single string that goes all the way around, and if removed at this point in your healing phase would cause spread. It is more likely that these are other sutures that simply approximate the incision and are not involve with areolar size and lift. You should return to your surgeon to be treated regardless.Best of luck!

I would see your PS and get some advise on your stitch. Different surgeons use different sutures and impossible to guide you without this info. For periareola mastopexy it is best that the permanent stitch stays in place for as long as possible but again only your PS will be able to advise you.

Follow up with your surgeon.  If it the purse string suture and it is exposed you will probably need to have it removed.  And yes this can adversely affect your areolar diameter. More likely are the other sutures, vicryl, monocryl used to achieve closure. Follow up with your surgeon. Regards.
