Spider veins on nose and rhinoplasty?

I have a rhinoplasty scheduled for march 23. Lately my spider veins have been getting a lot worse and out of control around my nose and some on my left cheek. I was wondering if i could get them treated with laser before the surgery and if i did would the rhinoplasty “destroy” the treatment?

You can definitely have rhinoplasty if you have your spider veins treated. I usually advise to have them treated 1 month or so after the rhinoplasty, because the procedure can occasionally make the veins more prominent. You may also need more than one treatment.

This is very common.  It's also east to treat!  For various reasons, people can have small veins on the skin around the nose.  It can be due to aging, sun damage, genetics, rosacea and other causes.  After surgery, the inflammation of healing can make them more visible.  We have a laser in the office that we use to treat our patients with if they appear after nasal surgery and is very effective.

Spider veins on the nose can be treated with pinpoint electrocautery, or intense pulse light therapy or laser treatments at least one month before or after the surgical rhinoplasty procedure. Not a good idea to perform them at the same time.

The rhinoplasty should have little effect on them.  A KTP laser works best with them.  Doing the treatment before the rhinoplasty will make no difference.  Best wishes.
