Smart Lipo vs Precision TX?

Question

What's the difference between smart chin lipo and the precision tx? I've been researching both procedures but don't fully understand the differences between the two. I want to get rid of my double chin and lower chubby cheeks using the least invasive/least downtime/non-surgical method available.

The best treatment for neck/jawline/chin in my experience is VASER hi def liposuction.  There is no difference between precision TX and smart lipo they are the same thing with different hand pieces. Precision Rx is a treatment upgrade for the  Smartlipo machine. The Precision Rx treatment uses a specific protocol to deliver enough laser energy to tighten skin in addition to reducing fat. If your problem includes loose skin then go with the Precision Rx.

PrecisionTX is really just the name for another hand piece on the Smartlipo system. It’s meant for smaller areas, like the neck, so it gives the doctor a better tool for delivering the energy in that area. Both can include liposuction and neck tightening. Neither is used for the lower cheeks. I would recommend you see a facial plastic surgeon, as chubby cheeks is a somewhat more complex issue than a chubby neck. A facial plastic surgeon will have the know-how and skill to re-contour the lower face and neck. Try to focus on finding a skilled surgeon who creates the type of results you desire, rather than picking the technology.

Smartlipo Triplex has 3 different wavelengths: 1064, 1320 and 1440nm.  The 1440 wavelength was found to be incorporated into a sidelaze cannula which is important when wanting to direct energy downward (toward the fat) or upward to tighten the dermis.  Without the sidelaze, energy just goes forward.  So the Precision TX utilizes a smaller handpience with the sidelaze 1440 nm wavelength to access smaller regions like the submental area or under the chin and neck area.  It basically was born from Smart Lipo.  The difference between PrecisionTx and injectables like Kybella is that it targets fat while ALSO tightening so that it gives a dual benefit.  The negative is that patients must wear a compression garment for 3 days straight followed by a week of wearing from 8-10 hours.  If someone has SmartLipo Triplex, chances are they are using the Precision handpiece for the chin area.

Precision TX is a side firing laser by Cynosure.  It is part of the SmartLipo system.The laser has direction so energy can be directed down to the fat, sideways to release adherent bands, and upwards for controlled thermal skin tightening of the face and neck.The original SmartLipo laser was multi-directional.  The Precision TX uses updated technology for precise treatments.
