The most important factor in choosing lipo as a solution is that the area not have too much loose skin. Removing fat will cause the skin to shrink. However, if there is too much skin, it will not shrink enough to prevent sagging and wrinkling. In that situation, removing some skin with surgical tightening would be a better solution. You'll be able to determine which is best when you schedule a consultation.
Ideally you want to get down to a BMI that is good for your height. Do that first, and then get evaluated for liposuction.
If you can get your weight as low as possible the risks of healing will go down significantly. You would need to be down to a healthy weight and BMI before having a cosmetic procedure to insure a safe outcome. Also, being at a stable weight is key to ensure you don't gain weight back after surgery. Good luck! Dean Vistnes.Vistnes Plastic SurgerySan Fancisco Bay Area#realself #drdeanvistnes #liposuction
Sure you could have it done, question is would that be the right thing for you. Requires an in-depth consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who will be candid regarding the amount of skin shrinkage that takes place using the laser. Also, I will always delay surgery in a patient at that weight to see if they can come down
If you are planning to get pregnant I would suggest waiting till after to do liposuction and/or if you have the need for skin removal surgery. However, the liposuciton procedure itself will have no baring on your ability to get pregnant after the procedure. Best, Dr. Emer.

Smartlipo works well for gynecomastia, and in my opinion, better than traditional liposuction because preheating the tissue with laser energy stimulates greater skin contraction. I agree with other expert comments which note that sometimes a small excision may also be necessary if there is...
Liposuction can be done with only local anesthetic in the office. It's less invasive and relatively easy, but this might not be appropriate for a history of heart disease. At the very least, inform your primary care doctor and cardiologist of the procedure. They may be able to provide clearance...
The lumpiness, numbness and hardness after liposuction typically persists at least 8 weeks after the surgery then slowly goes away. In my experience, daily massage of the hard areas makes the biggest difference in getting rid of it sooner rather than later. It can take 4-6 months to get to your...
Liposuction by any method causes inflammation and swelling. In addition, it completely disrupts the lymphatic system for months in the areas treated. The lymphatic system is what your body uses to get rid of fluid. Massage pushes the fluid out of these areas and into areas where the lymphatic...
