Normally, when a Sculptra treatment is done, there is some associated swelling.  This swelling may not be in the areas that were actually treated, as the swelling tends to move downward with gravity.  It may take 1-2 weeks for this issue to resolve.  I would guess that your appearance will still change in the next week or two so I would not be too concerned 1 week after the injection.  

Hello,The two photos you post are an example of why nothing can be gleaned from selfies. Differences in camera (phone!) position, angle, distance, and differences in facial expression, head position, and head angle make comparative assessment impossible, especially with the tiny lens found in all phone cameras. Sculptra have very little volume on its own, and takes 10 weeks for your body to produce collagen around the crystals, so any perceived changes are either non-existent or due to internal bruising and swelling from the injection. There may be some swelling for 1-2 weeks. Also, it will take several weeks for results with Sculptra. Sculptra is a great product for improving facial volume and collagen building, but for best results, I recommend using it in a combination depending on desired results. I combine Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to give immediate results. See an expert. Sculptra is a great product for long lasting results.  You can't judge the results of Sculptra immediately after injections since the large amount of saline used will definitely distort your appearance until the results settle in.  It takes about four weeks from the injections to see the full results.  Best, Dr. Green

so what you describe is completely normal. i know this first hand as my wife chin looked really swollen for 2 weeks after sculptra then it settled down. If there is a lot of heat or pain the see your doctor, otherwise, this is what we always see. Hope that helps. Adam Goodwin
