Hello, breast implants are not necessarily contraindicated if you have had a biopsy, but your surgeon would need to consider your unique situation (the biopsy result, whether close surveillance is needed, breast cancer risk, etc).
Hello,A breast augmentation with implants either above or below muscle, will be behind and separate from your breast tissue. This is where biopsies are taken from. I recommend that you have this conversation with your Primary care physician who knows your whole health picture better, then when you are ready, book an in-person consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss options. All the best
Great question! The clips they place after a biopsy is to keep track of the area where samples were taken incase they need to go back in to take more tissue out. These clips are placed within the actual breast tissue. Breast implants are placed either underneath the breast tissue or underneath the muscle. Therefore it will not interfere with the clips. So yes it is safe to have breast implants placed, even after they put clips from a biopsy.Best of luck and hope this information helps!
Thank you for your question. A breast clip is often placed after a biopsy so that the location can be easily seen on mammograms. The clips are very small and placed within your breast tissue. Ultimately implants are placed behind the breast tissue and/or muscle. It would be very unlikely to have any complications related to the biopsy clip. Be sure to inform your plastic surgeon prior to proceeding with your surgery. Best of luck, Dr. Kludt
The answer is yes! The question is why do you have this market? And the lesion/ lump be removed or removed during the augmentation? I have removed many lesions/ lumps during and had them sent for pathological analysis. I am certified in both plastic surgery and general surgery. Most of the board certified plastic surgeons are!!! Ask your surgeon. Good
Dear Ms. Nancyisaqt,Thank you for your story and questions. Unfortunately I not sure what a "chip" is. I assume its is a clip that was placed as to monitor the tissue around the area of the biopsy.Never the less implants are not placed in the breast tissue but rather:1) under the muscle2) under the breast tissue3) or a combination of the 1and 2.I recommend that you schedule several consultative appointments with Plastic Surgeons who are experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition ideally they are members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery).I wish you my best and success,R. HelloIn most cases it should be fine to have breast augmentation after having had a biopsy with a marker/clip placed. However, having had a marker placed may mean that this area needs to be followed closely. I would suggest having your breast imaging done at a high volume center where the breast radiologists have excellent experience with reading mammograms in augmented breasts.Best wishes-
Thanks for your question. It should be safe to have breast augmentation after having had breast biopsy. The clip from the biopsy should not migrate to damage the implant.Good luck with your breast augmentation.
You can get a breast augmentation after a biopsy procedure. Not sure what the chip is? Please see examples below and make a consultation to discuss details and price of surgery.
I'm afraid I am not familiar with a "Chip", but biopsies are in the breast tissue, implants are never in the breast, they are either behind the breast, or better yet behind the breast and the muscle. So biopsies do not prevent you from having an augmentation.
