Does rhinoplasty affects eye muscles and nerves?

Question

I had an eye injury long time ago, and my eye muscle is trapped by the delicate bones that separate the orbit from the ethmoid sinus. I have small eye movement restriction. Also, does general anesthesia increase risk of brain stroke? Three years ago, I had some light symptoms similar to stroke, but nothing since then I am feeling fine now. Is there a big risk if I go on operation? I must mention that I am almost 30 years old.

A well done rhinoplasty should not have any effects on your eye muscles or nerves. You will have to discuss your medical fitness for the procedure with your primary care physician as well as your plastic surgeon. All The Best !

Thank you for the question and if cleared for surgery by your internist there should be no increased risk with general anesthesia during a rhinoplasty Dr Corbin

Depending on exactly what will be done during your rhinoplasty procedure it is extremely unlikely the eye muscles are at risk but you did have trauma so I  recommend you inform your surgeon who can talk to those who treated the eye injury. Anesthesia is appropriate in a 30 year old patient but I suggest you get clearance from your medical physician.
